Betta Fish: Betta Buffet

I like to experiment and mix up the foods Magellan eats. It's fun to just sit down and feed him, I think it enriches both our lives.

There are eggnant and baby shrimp in the tank, so I try to keep him fed. He will lazily chase them if he's not hungry. He's super fast when he is. There were detrius worms and hitchhiker snails, but he's eaten them. He's constantly hunting. He's learned that the pipette or my finger on the water surface signals food.

These were all quite inexpensive. I put emojis as little reviews of his reactions. He's not supposed to steal the Shrimps' cuisine, but he's greedy and sometimes gets a few as they sink, so they're included here. He hates freeze dried anything, which is too bad because the treat wheel is a fun concept.

He goes absolutely feral for the Bug Bite Flakes and frozen brine shrimp.

Now that he is at a decent weight, he only gets 2 to 4 pieces of an item, twice a day. He's fasted on Saturdays. I slip him frozen bloodworm treats at least once a week. But he's cute and I'm soft so sometimes it's more, lol. He will lunge at them, he's so excited to eat them.
