I shared my disappointment at my Patagonia waders delaminating after less than 30 days on the water (purchased in August of 2025). I was even more disappointed when they told me it would be 6 weeks until I got repairs, a new set or a credit. So, I was pretty happy to see my waders were coming back to me after less than a month. Unfortunately, their “repair” of multiple delaminations and leaks along the seam in a set of waders used less than 30 times was no less than 11 patches. These were not pinhole punctures, they were delaminations and faulty seams. To be clear, I would be totally fine with these repairs if I’d had them for multiple seasons of heavy use, but that’s not the case at all.

Sweet-looking clown pants, tho!
Sounds like the waders were a size or 2 too small hence the blown seams
I personally wouldn’t be disappointed with these fixes. They go have a large margin of safety to prevent further leakage in those areas.
However, if you aren’t happy then just reach out to Patagonia and they’ll likely replace for you like they did my waders from a couple years back.
Did you tell them you’re not satisfied? Their customer service is usually on point.
That sucks. Def expect more from Patagonia. My swiftcurrent expeditions are already leaking after 6 days on the water. I’m out of the return period, so it looks like I’ll have to deal with their repair center too.. I feel like their quality is not the same as it used to be. I know dudes that have had their waders for multiple seasons without any issues, but it seems like people who have bought waders within the last year are experiencing more and more issues.
How come almost none of these patches appear to be on the seam?
Ol polka butt
It seems to me like when Earth became their only shareholder things started going downhill with customer service. I had a similar experience with some clothing that just didn’t hold up…customer service just isn’t what it once was but they seem to be able to charge more on everything.
Most of those patches aren’t even on seams
I bought a set of Swiftcurrent Expedition waders last summer and I don’t care for them at all. The material is ok, but I can’t stand how the suspenders connect to the waders. They constantly come apart then the waders start falling down. A buckle would have been nice. The ankles are so narrow getting my feet in and out of the booties is a pain in the ass. They just annoy me considering the price. I went back to Orvis and keep them for backups now.
Everything I hear is there after sales service is impeccable. I don’t own a pair so regurgitating what I’ve heard others say though, but that repair look like a joke
My two cents – buy Orvis pro line. I bought Orvis pro waders in 2021 and have more than 200 days on the water with them, sometimes really thick western alpine stuff, and never had a single leak.
That said, Patagonia should have replaced those, my guess if they’re backlogged and simply couldn’t replace
them so they did their best.
Not trying to encourage any shady practices here, but I bought my Rio gallegos in 2019. Finally this year they leaked for the first time. I suspected the zipper sent them back with the hope of repair. They sent me a full f refund (in patagonia credit)for what I paid. I have a cousin that has had his 10 years and never a leak and we are in and out of a certain gorge regularly that is brutal. Granted the new pair I bought to replace them was about 30% more than I paid for my first pair but, I consider this top notch customer service.
They fixed the problem for free and quicker than promised and I’m still upset. /s
Are you sure you didn’t call Patagonia Taiwan branch?
