I am semi-new and getting more into carp and catfishing than I have ever been this summer. I have heard great things about mad katz, but also some not so great things so I wanted to ask if these would be a good buy for carp and catfishing with method feeder rig, carolina rig, etc using 20 lb braid? Are these rods any better than if I just bought an ugly stik catfish rod and slapped a penn pursuit 5000 on it? I really want to be able to catch my first carp this summer so I want a rod and reel combo that works well for that that is around 270 or less, and I also want to be able to go in store and buy it without having to order. Thank you guys for any help you can give me?

Unless I was fishing for channels in a lake, I dont think id be running the same rod for catfish and carp personally, with that said I have 3 mad katz I use for big catfish that I like, I wish the handles were a bit different but thats about it.
