I am semi-new and getting more into carp and catfishing than I have ever been this summer. I have heard great things about mad katz, but also some not so great things so I wanted to ask if these would be a good buy for carp and catfishing with method feeder rig, carolina rig, etc using 20 lb braid? Are these rods any better than if I just bought an ugly stik catfish rod and slapped a penn pursuit 5000 on it? I really want to be able to catch my first carp this summer so I want a rod and reel combo that works well for that that is around 270 or less, and I also want to be able to go in store and buy it without having to order. Thank you guys for any help you can give me?

Personally would not use catfish rods for carp fishing. I do not know this brand, but generally speaking catfish grows significantly bigger than carp and the rods are probably way too strong.
I wouldn’t want a rod that glows in the dark! Especially when carp fishing to me that’s a crazy idea! You do your best to wear camo gear! Why highlight a rod?
