Hello, I’m not a beginner by any means with freshwater (fly and conventional), but fairly clueless with surfcasting on my own.
I live 30-40 minutes from a number of Massachusetts beaches and have spent the past year slowly accumulating gear from people getting rid of stuff (mostly free). Essentially, I need help figuring out which techniques I should target/learn with what I have/which rods-reel to use. I’m also looking for more specific recommendations on line and terminal just as a starting point. Striped bass should arrive soon so just trying to get my act together, but also a multi species angler in general. Knot advice would also be greatly appreciated.
Below and attached are the rod/reels/pic of hard baits that I have:
– 10’ Star Rod Aerial HVY 2-5oz
– 9’ Tsunami 5 Star MH 1-4oz
– 7’ Inshore Extreme MH 3/4-3oz (pike rod)
– Penn Battle III 6000
– Penn Pursuit IV 6000
– Older Shimano Spirex 4000 (previously a pike reel)
