Ok you keep your shitty telescoping spinner rod under the back seat of the truck….you have 1 bait that you got on you at all times for a roadside ditch, canal, stream or some body of water… what bait is that?

Although I almost never use them anymore, for the sake of the very specific context you mentioned OP, I’d have to say an inline spinner. It really is one of the most versatile lures out there at the end of the day..

Pheasant tail nymph. Fish it on bobber if it’s shitty telescopic rod and you need more weight to cast it.

But I have a purelure telescoping rod, histar air, and a sleeve of micro lures and jigs in the glove box of my Toyota yaris 🙁 they aren’t shitty :((((

Echo what everyone said about the inline spinners, otherwise i would say a small spoon with a feathered hook. or if you’re into jigs/soft plastics a deadly one for me lately is a northland tackle broom bug

White rooster tail catches anything that swims so i would go with that.

I have a small tackle box in the big pocket on the back of my seat but what I keep on the line is a Beetle Spin with a white curly tail grub.
