Believed to be gone forever, dropped and hidden in deep grass or better yet at the bottom of the river.

Rewind to last weekend – pulled them out making some adjustable dropper perfection loops (check out Old Trout Bum on YT) which is a fantastic method when you’re fishing dries on a euro nymph setup.
Rested the forceps somewhere on my pack, saw a rise and quickly walked towards it. That was where they were last seen.

After a few miles of walking was when I noticed they were gone, usually on my shoulder strap. Searched everywhere and went back to where I thought I dropped them. Nowhere to be found after looking for a while, they are great for crushing barbs and double as scissors too, along with getting hooks out, pretty handy so was quite annoyed.

Anyway, today went fishing and about to order another pair later. Got left foot into waders and at the bottom felt something, thought was my shoulder wader straps stuck… pulled out the damn forceps! Couldn’t believe it, now back where they belong.

Hope this wasn’t a crap story but had to share 😂 anyone else lost something fishing related and by some miracle found it again?

I dropped a pair sunglasses once whe fishing at a lake. Couldn’t find them and went home.. A few days later I was going for a swim in the same lake and was drying up on a rocky outcrop when a magpie flew over and dropped my sunnies like 10ft from where I was sitting. It’s the honest truth. Pretty remarkable.

Brother. Tethers. Coming from an ocean fishing and kayak fishing background, once I got into fly fishing, everything gets a tether. Horrible feeling watching your fave pliers drift away in 80’ of water. I vowed never again. It’s paid off. More than once I’ve had to abort a net attempt bc the fish wasn’t ready yet, and I’m standing in not-insignificant current. I just drop the net and let it drift. Glad you found your kit though.
