For many years I ignored DC reels waving them off as a gimmick, but eventually bought one just to say "I have one". They are a cool novelty, this exsence model is the only DC reel I own, it even has a drag clicker. these DC reels have a selector switch that you adjust depending on what line you're using. they are cool reels but in my opinion they are limiting for experienced casters. you are unlikely to get the same casting distance compared to a non DC reel. So if you are like me and just ignored these DC reels I suggest you give them a try they are cool reels
