I love paddling around and enjoying the lake even if i dont catch anything, but seems like when im hiking up a river i can “read” the water a lot easier, last time i catched many panfish, catfish and a couple small bass.
Getting a spot on cast, with a topwater lure and catching almost inmediatly definetly sent some dopamine straight to the dome, first time i’ve felt like all those youtube videos and tutorials are actually useful and not just a psyop to make us think fish are real.

River fish are much stronger fish. They fight way harder.

Growing up in a tidal system with current will do that to a fish.
