Just to preface the barrel is very smooth with 3 large openings. The fake plant is silk. There is a snail in there which is why they're a sinker feeder. I am doing a fish in cycle which is something I am experienced with. I have my API master test kit.
I have a very large live plant as well as floating plants. Catappa leaf for taurins.
Kahn is very happy go lucky swimming around and is very active, as is his snail friend Vladimir. I don't wanna over crowd the tank with live plants. Dudes generally happy. It's been 24 hours and he gets more and more active as time goes on. The tank light is on a timer to give him 12/12 cycles. 5.5 gallons.
Pretty happy with it but unsure if there is anything else to add.

it takes a lot to overcrowd a tank with plants, and yours is nowhere near that. you can definitely add more.
Looks like there’s still room for at least a few more plants
Honestly it is VERY difficult to have to many plants especially with bettas. Look up how dense the growth in rice paddy’s is! Can’t see more than a few inches.
More plants. You will not overcrowd it. This was one of my tanks before a recent rescape.

More plants and hiding spots
