I get skunked far more often than I ever land a a bass (or any fish), and I haven’t ever caught more than one bass in the same day, but rarity makes it all the more special. My PB is very small (the second one 13 inches and ~1.5-2 pounds, while the fourth was 15.75 inches and ~1.5 pounds), but that’s just setting me up for a long term goal in the hopefully not too distant future. Really hoping things can pick up for me later this month or summer. I’m going to start traveling farther for better spots, and hopefully I can get a PB before going home today.

What I’ve learned so far is that spooks rock. It’s actually the only lure that got me any bass (the last two). The first I caught with a live minnow, the second with a 5 inch senko, and the spotted with a live cricket. And I’ve used those senko’s the most out of every other lure. I also tried out those frogs, and I got one lucky reaction strike with it, but it didn’t hook, and it was only pure luck that my frog hoped inches in front of its face (the water is too murky for me to see the bass).
