Just add a very small pinch of food every day to feed the tank and it will cycle eventually. You are growing an invisible garden of beneficial bacteria and it takes about two weeks. Might want fertilizers for the plants

The giant plant on the back definitely needs some soil with nutrients to grow ( or root tabs ) and the Java fern doesn’t like to be buried u can attach it to the wood.

Try Fritzyme 7 to get the cycle going faster, Fritz’s fishless fuel will also be great for dosing ammonia in easy to measure amounts. I’d recommend a small pipette to make dosing easier. You should only need to dose ammonia until your first colony develops (you’ll know this when ammonia starts disappearing from your tank after 24 hours) and then it’s just a waiting game for the second colony. PH needs to stay above 6.4-6.8 or the second bacteria could stall. API master test kit will be your best friend as dip sticks are not very accurate compared to liquid. Good luck!!!

With the plants, you got some BB in there already. If you want an instant cycle, ask around to get some cycled filter media or a small sponge filter swap. (Swap = their seeded one for a new one from you).
