It was originally sold to me as female but looking up similar Bettas, seems like it is male. At the time, I didn't know male Bettas could have shorter fins and had purchased this with a long-finned one. Thanks to anyone who responds! Funny thing is – I tried pairing it with the long-finned male Betta. 😂

Im leaning towards male but its hard to tell from the photo. Check to see if there is an ovipositor behind those ventral fins. (I cant tell if I see one or if its just the background). It shohld should up as like, a tiny white bead
