Hi all! I recently upgraded my betta Grumpy Bear to a new 10 gallon planted aquarium along with 3 Cory’s and Colonel Mustard the mystery snail. I recently saw a bright red wiggly worm but didn’t worry too much as I read it’s a common hitchhiker on new plants. Well fast forward a few days and I now have these white mosquito looking flies coming out of my tank every time I lift the lid! Google says I need more flow to break up the surface tension where the larvae is laid but what can I add that’ll be safe for Grumpy Bear??
I’m considering an air stone or maybe a small bubble wall maker I found on Amazon. Would love suggestions!
Right now I have a waterfall back hanging filter with the waterflow on medium, any higher and my betta does tumbles like he’s at a next level water park! But that really doesn’t do anything to move the surface tension, I’m sure all the duckweed isn’t helping 😣
**Also please ignore the crowded silk plants and fake decor, it’s from his old tank and is just in there temporarily for the beneficial bacteria, a tip I learned from you guys! **

The fish and especially Corys will eat any kind of worm, don’t worry lol
