Heading into the Emigrant Wilderness of the Stanislaus National Forest in early June for some backpacking and fishing. 8 years ago we did the same but was finishing with spinning rod and this year I want to bring my fly as an alternative. We will most likely be on the lakes and streams around Emigrant Lake.
I am from North Carolina so my fly knowledge of CA is limited. Thinking I will bring my 5 weight. Can someone recommend a few flies to bring? Dry, wet, popper, whatever. What works up there.
