Lowkey feel so bad for this betta fish. I ran into him last week and he wouldn’t move at all just moves his fins and that’s it and I thought he was going to die but I ran into him again today! He moved and like darted across the cup then slowly floated/swimmer to the top and stayed there..

his fins look clamped and he looks skinny.

I checked the dudes price and he’s 3.99 but I heard that sometimes they do adoptions for fish that outgrow their tank so maybe they will do the same if a fish is sick?

I want to maybe nurse him back to health and everything and see if anyone wants him like family member or friends and offer to set up his tank for them while giving some information about how to care for them. Or maybe I’ll give him to my little sister and help her take care of it since she’s always bothering me about my fish and how she wants one 😭

I already have a Betta so I know how to take care of them. But I’ve never had a betta where they are this sick.

Idk should I get him? Is it worth it? Idk I know I’m not really saving him and I’m just giving the store more space to abuse another fish.

If you pay for fish in bad conditions, that only encourages the company to buy more fish and keep them in the same conditions. If you can talk them into giving it to you for free, you should take it, but I would not pay for it if I were you.

Ask them to discount him. We did that with one that was super sad looking and I stuck him in an outdoor water lily thing I have (we live in a tropical climate). Prob not the most ideal but 100% better than that shitty cup situation.
