
Put your handle facing up from the rod at 90⁰
pull the line around the handle from the spool so that the line has to travel around the handle before leaving the reel.
Pull and pick as needed. This has been much faster than just adjusting and picking. It seems that the line being offset seems to loosen easier.
I dont know if this is a known trick or not but it helps me quite a bit so I figured id share it.

The best method I’ve ever come across that cannot be beaten is to just use spinning reels ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Honestly I used a small crochet hook and knitting needle my wife gave me lol it’s worked wonders and has fixed issues in less than 5 min
