The reel in question is the Daiwa SS Tournament 700, in production from '87-'22 relatively unchanged. Whether made in Japan or Thailand, they're very high quality. While they aren't as smooth as the latest and greatest, they will outlast them. I've serviced these for original owners that bought late in the Reagan administration.
