This contraption came free with a rod I recently purchased, and I’m not sure what to make of it.
The wheeled wedge and rubber bands came together in a small ziplock bag so I assumed they were meant to be used together.
A little playing around revealed that I can clip it on to different parts of the rod, and the wedge can be positioned flush or protruding.
My best guess is a hook holder for walking safely, but I would like to confirm.

Yup its a hook holder. Not just for walking safely its also useful for storing your rod without your hook dangling about.
