Being incredibly brave here. I went from not knowing anything and having 2 goldfish with tropical fish in a 20 gallon. To learning, making improvements and now here we are.
55 gallon, 4 fancy goldfish and a temporary bristle nose pleco. She was added to help curb the algae explosion. Thanks to her there's none. (My mom fed them for me because I was too sick to move. Overfed by alot and I couldn't change water so yeah. Ordering a python once I get paid so that doesn't happen again).
The bristle nose is the mom to our few clutches of babies. Figured she could help and use a break for a month or two.
I'd love to get a 5th Goldie, a white one. To complete the gang. Im worried that'll be too much as i also wanted to add a small army of nerite snails for algae and for fun. Theres none now thanks to the BN but she'll get moved back to her usual tank soon.
I do want to upgrade them all to a 75 gallon once I find one. Im cheap and won't buy it brand new. Their also getting a second filter and a new lid. Right now it's a sechem tidal 75, which keeps up but it does need help. Ill be adding a 110 to it. (I cannot afford a $500 canister filter lol). That brings it to 185 gallons of filtration plus the sponge filters (ill be getting a third one). I do throw excess duckweed and salvania from the other tanks in there but they eat it.
Finally, I want to change their fake plants to taller skinner ones so they'd have more room? Or should I leave the big ones because they like to group under it and sleep. The little fuckers eat all the live plants i try to add. Expensive breakfast lord almighty lol.

Have you tried checking out local aquarium groups on Facebook? I’ve found a lot of inexpensive stuff for my tanks. Free mystery snails last weekend and I give away water lettuce all the time. I’d love to give some to you if you were local.
it’s very nice and makes me miss keeping goldies 🙂 As for the decor, if your fish are happy no need to change it. They might even like if you get some tall ones to stick in there as well. The ones I used to keep loved to have things to squeeze around in
