Hi guys! I just got this little guy today and wanted to ensure he was 100% healthy, don’t mind his container I was told to let the chemical cleaners sit a few hours before transferring him from his store container! 😳 Just worried in case he might be a little sick unless he is sleeping lol

He looks okay, I’m just a little worried over him floating sideways in the last picture. What do you mean by chemical cleaners? Is it water conditioner/dechlorinator? Also I hope you have cycled your tank before buying him. Remember to also aclimate him to your tank water before adding him in! To do that you put a little bit of water from the fish tank into his container over the course of an hourish
Um… what did you use to clean his tank…? All you should really use is warm water and that’s it
He(his body) looks healthier than most but wouldn’t say the healthiest bc he seems lethargic
How big is the tank, and how long has it cycled? Based on him laying on his side, he might have swim bladder problems.
My Samurai Beta sleeps on his almond leaves floating near the top of the tank… I thought he was dead at 1st but they do sleep. A tank with filter and ph balanced water, appropriate temp etc is much better for them.
Do you know how the nitrogen cycle works? Has the tank been cycled? What is your ammonia, nitrite levels? How do you test for the levels?
Edit: you should also always answer the auto mods questions.
Is this a Meijer fish? Just got a new Betta yesterday. Looks exactly like the Meijer cup he came in
Sadly that is how these chain Pet stores house their bettas, usually in a cup very rarely have I ever seen one in an actual tank set up in store so yes, that is why this Sub is so popular or should I say has its own “ community “ for Betta alone as most of them on here and including my very own are rescues from chain pet store cups.
