My first catch of the season

Caught this nice green minnow with a texas senko, along with about 30 feet of braid and a snap swivel.

Honestly since I had nothing else going for me on this fishing day, I will take it!

Now I want to catch a fish with the free lure I caught.

I fish for bass and pike from shore in Lake Ontario. I don't use these floating minnows. How would you guys use this?

Also have you caught any tackle lately?

PS – am I right in thinking the angler who lost this didn't need to have a snap swivel on it? Does having a swivel in your line have an effect on lures that don't require swivels, for example cranks or jigs or whatever. Because it would be convenient to always have swivel in my line when switching.
