Hi, Is this normal? I started to notice it today, the fish is breathing slowly, and I noticed whenever I tap the bowl it comes up and releases bubbles and goes down again. However I am planning to buy 3-5 guppies, add some soil and plants for oxygen.

Deffinitely not normal do water change asap
Make sure you answer all the auto mod questions so you can receive better help. Water change and testing parameters is a solid first move, but to be honest, this is definitely an emergency.
5 gallon tank and a lot of work comes next, but stabilizing him now is the priority.
A quick youtube search on how to setup a betta tank would make you learn so many things already.
