Let the drag do its thing and results were much better. Had a great day. Caught like 10 fish, but i did lose 3 at the kayak from the fish shaking the hook. Is this a common thing? All three were on a 5 inch senko on a 3/0 offset shank worm hook. Fought em to the boat, kept the tension on them, but that one last held shake and they threw the hook. Anything I can do to help avoid that?

Also, did this fish get its tail bitten off or is this from making a bed?

  1. Probably from fanning rocks to make a bed if I had to guess. A stout male.

  2. Only thing you can really do about losing them at the boat is get a longer handled net and do your best to keep the line tight and hopefully prevent the hook coming out.
