I used to do a fair bit of carp/river fishing, always had someone on hand to set the rods up etc, I was young and naive so never really paid attention to the important parts, just wanted to get my rod in kick back & relax😂

However, I'm now 28 looking to make a return to fishing with the nice upcoming weather we might be blessed enough to have here in the UK

I've currently got a Carp Stalker rod (12ft) as the pond I'm looking to fish is relatively small.

I am using braided carp rigs in a different variety of sizes 8-12

I am using Fake Corn + Pineapple Pop Ups (boyleys) & I have a 1oz lead weight to help with casting + I have the little lead clips that hold the weight on.

I am struggling to figure out how far from the hook do I need to attach the lead weight & clip system? and wondering if I should use Splitshot BBs as I do remember using them when I was younger.

Also wondering about how far between the lead setup and the hair rig do I attach a small float.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated! I've already watched a fair few videos on YouTube, particularly @fishingtutorials (link added for reference)
