I finally ditched the push buttons and got myself a spinner rod and reel combo. Super excited. Gonna take some getting used to to dial everything in with it but im loving it so far. I only spent $40 so I feel like I got a good deal
How'd I do on the purchase? Any tips and tricks for using the spinner reel?

Great choice
Advice would be that there’s too much line on that reel
Anytime you reel it in, you want tension on the spool. Do that and ensure you won’t have a mess later on
Looks a bit overspooled, but all in all worth it for $40.
Tie on only a weight to the end of the line, and do a few practice casts in the yard.
watch some videos on how to open the bail to cast. makes a huge difference as a beginner
Daiwa makes such good rods. I got the Aird-X off a recommendation someone made on here and it’s probably my favorite spinning rod
