Alright y'all. Yesterday morning was my first time ever in kayak. (Field n stream eagle run 12ft) And needless to say I am now absolutely hooked. I kayaked and fished for 5 hours yesterday, even traversed the small creek seen in the pic to get to another lake. But here's my question now. I bought oar holders, but don't know which way to mount them. Which is better? Perpendicular across the cockpit of the kayak? Or parallel along the length of the kayak?

Long way out of the way and stores smaller
Personal preference tbh, but most of us store them parallel along the length of the kayak.
Paddle, not oar.
