So I know it’s very unpopular but when I bought this tank the fish store employee said fish in cycle was perfectly fine so that’s what I ended up doing. I have 6 minnows, 4 shrimp and a snail in here (10 gallon tank). Currently 24 hours in and I’ve done one 25% water change. Any advice?

Monitor your parameters extremely closely with a liquid test kit. Fish-in cycle for your first tank as a beginner wasn’t the greatest advice from the store employee.
Buy the seachem stability liquid and use about half a cap full a day. Maybe even a full cap. Don’t do water changes or filter changes for the first two weeks and make sure to refrigeratorate the seachem liquid while you aren’t using it. If you do not add the essential bacteria your fish will start dying just like mine did when I added fish before it was cycled. Seachem is an amazing price because its super concentrated compared to other brands. When doing a filter change just gently squeeze and shake it under dirty aquarium water outside of the tank before putting the filter pad back in. That’s where your good bacteria will live.
Please remember these steps are extremely important!
Good luck 👍 💓
