i’ve had my fish since October and when I got him, everything was great (see before photos). after a few months I started noticing some ripping/tearing at the end of his tail, so I started treating with tannins and making sure my water quality was good. I didn’t see any improvement so I went to my local fish store and they suggested kanaplex. after treating with the kanaplex, I still don’t see any improvement and I’m worried that it’s getting worse. I’m really worried for my fish and I want to help him, any suggestions or advice?

Epsom salt bath, water checking if the levels of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate high- water change. Or other options could be just genetics. A lot of betta fish that are bred in stores have poor genetics and die/ get sick easily. I’m not sure what could be your case . Maybe get Seachem stress guard. It’s antiseptic for fish and guards from ammonia spikes so your fish can restore its health. But the only options could be -age, parasite, infection, som genetic predisposition to health issue
