First time fishing, is this too little line on my spool?
Spooled myself up some 10lb mono on a 3000 spool. I had some more line originally but learning to tie knots and some birds nesting made me cut some off. Should I re-spool this from scratch or will it perform okay?

That’s fine. Most of mine are about like that. You might be able to cast slightly farther with the spool filled closer to the edge, but then backlashing will be more likely. That’s a good amount for starting out.

Ideally the top layer of the line should be about 1/8” below the rim of the spool. You’re a little below that but not by much so you will be ok. It would only be a problem if you wanted or needed to make extremely long casts.
