I bought this guy on Saturday 04/12 after doing a 70% water change and letting the water filter for over a week. He’s a golden rose tail? I’m not sure if that’s the color or fin type I saw all others of his species being called half moons but he seems small finned to be a half moon. Anyway, i haven’t even named him yet and I noticed his face has a wound! I don’t remember this being there when I got him but there’s nothing hard for him to have done this much damage to his face. Any help explanations or advice on how to fix this please!!. I was considering getting stress coat. I just lost my last fish from cancer a few weeks ago and I want him to thrive. I tried to get more pictures but he’s a skiddish to the camera.

If it’s just a scrape it will heal on its own just fine, as long as the water is clean and healthy. Definitely monitor it of course to make sure it’s healing, not getting worse. I wouldn’t treat with anything yet.
He is a half moon betta btw. Fin length has nothing to do with it, it’s the shape. Plakats can be halfmoons too just as they can be crowntails! And he’s really better off not being a rosetail.
