Hi all, picked up my first rod today and this longer one came included. It isnt threaded like the other one is, how on earth do i put a reel in there without it coming off? The cork/wood material has different thicknesses along the handle

I believe the silver rings are loose; a reel would be placed up against the rod and set into the bottom ring. Then pull the top ring down snugly.
Seat the reel in the bottom, then slide the top part down and snug it up. That’s it.
Dosen’t seem like it, but it does work.
Had one like that before. Had to use a hose clamp to keep the top ring from slipping
