Is this normal when buying from eBay? Seller does not accept returns

  1. Doesn’t matter what seller says. eBay’s policy overrides this. You can still file a return for item arrived damaged. Seller has to accept it.

  2. Seller put it in a crappy cardboard box. Seller should know better or not be shipping rods.

I use PVC tubes or cardboard carpet roll tubes. Only way.

Insurance should have been purchased for the shipment, at least that’s what I do when shipping rods. USPS will handle and pay out the insurances price. They’ll generally ask for a proof of purchase for the item total, and I believe there’s an online form to fill out. They’ll take a few days to complete their “investigation” and the issue a check. I haven’t had to deal with this as a seller before thankfully, but have as a buyer. It may help to call and talk it through with the post office…i will say that their automated service is kinda annoying an it take a min to actually get a person.

A long thin cardboard box will not stop USPS from breaking a rod. Needs to be in a thick walled tube. USPS will say it was improperly packaged. Seller at fault.
