I just got this reel the other day, I am able to push my spool down with not much effort, Although it oscillates just fine. I have caught two 30” redfish with it yesterday and didn’t seem to affect it. I am wondering if this is meant to be able to do this or defective.

Not related to your question but you’re overspooled

It’s busted. Hopefully just something inside loose or misaligned, but I take mine apart regularly and tolerances are pretty tight. My money would be on stripped gear.

You just got a broken reel. Find a service and they will replace the plastic gear..
